Tax Manager

Job Description

Duties include:
– Managing the day to day function of the Tax Department
– Verbal and written communication with clients
– Communication with HM Revenue & Customs and other third parties
– Provide training on technical issues, systems and support to the Tax Administrators, Senior Tax Administrators and Assistant Tax Manager
– Reviewing a large volume of UK Self-Assessment tax returns
– Reviewing the income statements for issue to Accountants and Contractors preparing their own tax returns
– Weekly meeting with the Chief Financial Officer to report the weekly team’s position
– Arranging tax payments for the Contractors to HMRC in January and July and maintaining the payment records
– Interaction with other offices both in the UK and overseas
– Provide an efficient service to UK professionals and to companies within the group

Skills and experience required:
– Be ATT or CTA qualified
– Significant experience of dealing with the UK Self-Assessment regime
– Significant experience of dealing with large volumes of clients
– Ability to work under pressure and to strict regulatory deadlines
– A good level of accuracy and attention to detail
– Flexible and adaptable approach to work in a fast moving business environment
– Computer literacy essential, in particular Microsoft Excel
– Excellent communication skills
