Senior Compliance Manager – Banking

Job Description

Duties include:

Provide the correct technical and commercial interpretation of the application regulatory requirements as they relate to business activities;

Responsibility for the implementation and continuous improvement of internal risk policies and operational procedures in accordance with relevant banking regulatory requirements and best practice;

Ensure any changes to regulatory requirements are understood, communicated and implemented within the required timetable;

Responsible for reviewing, developing and ensuring operational functionality of the Group s Banking Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management Framework, (new business, prevention of financial crime, data protection, anti-bribery and corruption, market abuse, CRS and FATCA);

Provide information as required by the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (ARCC);

Primary responsibility for completion of annual/monthly/quarterly and regulatory reporting as required by the IOMFSA;

Primary responsibility for ensuring that the regulator remains informed of any appropriate regulatory matters in a timely fashion and that all reporting requirements are undertaken.

Assist as required with regulators, law enforcement, auditors etc.
Assist in the promotion of the Group s Banking Compliance and Risk Strategy and ensure alignment with the Group s strategic, operational and financial goals;

Responsibility for maintaining the Group s Banking Regulatory Registers and any other records required by the IOMFSA guidance / handbooks;

Assist in the internal investigation of any complaints relating to the Group s Banking Operations and recommend a suitable course of remedial action;

Assist with any AML queries and advice relating to the Group s Banking Operations;

Assist with the annual review of any client transactional files relating to the Group s Banking Operations;

Provide support and guidance to the Board, ARCC to ensure that all risks relating to the Group s Banking Operations (regulatory, legal and AML) are adequately managed;

Advise and coordinate the implementation of any new rules, regulations and legislation relating to the Group s Banking Operations into everyday procedures and activities.

Skills and experience required:

5+ years’ experience in a Compliance and Banking environment, or similar role;

Hold a relevant financial services related qualification;

Significant experience across all Compliance related disciplines within the finance sector;

Excellent technical knowledge of Compliance, Regulatory, and Legislative requirements, predominantly from an Isle of Man, UK, and EU perspective;

Ability to identify possible concerns/objections and structure communication accordingly; conveying confidence when dealing with people at all levels both internally and externally;

Good knowledge of banking products and processes and industry best practice, particularly in the offshore market;

Good understanding of restrictions upon marketing into sensitive territories;

Experience of dealing with regulators including day to day relationships and regulatory visits;

Practical experience of translating regulation into a working document understood by the business;

Report writing;

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with all parts of the business particularly Senior Management;

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
