Risk Specialist

Job Description

Duties include:
Support the Head of Risk and Chief Risk Officer in the provision of effective 2nd line oversight of the Business
Manage the day-to-day relationship between our Client and the Central Risk function
Help the management team to identify and understand any risk drivers, take effective action and make appropriate business decisions
Overseeing 1st line risk and event capture, escalation and reporting and advising on risk and control assessments
Supporting the embedding and development of Business Risk Profiles or carrying out monitoring practices and risk assurance activity

Skills and experience required:
Have a numerate or business related degree and/or formal qualification in Risk Management or similar discipline (e.g. Financial Crime)
A firm grasp of financial products, industry practice and regulatory requirements/legislation
Experience of defining and delivering MI and reporting and getting involved in risk assurance activities
Experience in engaging with, and influencing, IT experts and business stakeholders to develop robust and value adding risk management IT and reporting solutions
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills and flair for driving change
Technical expertise, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
