Project Manager

Job Description

This is a 12 month contract.

Duties include:
Manage delivery of multiple projects or Programme work streams; ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, to scope
Responsible for shaping and developing the project approach
Applies and champions the appropriate project management discipline, i.e. planning, resourcing, monitoring, reporting and risk, issue and dependency management
Establishes an effective project organisation structure and responsible for shaping, building, development, management and motivation of the project team. Produce and manage project budgets, ensuring that spend is in line with agreed plans, that accurate forecasts are produced and agreed benefits are realised
Responsible for overall project planning and management of resources required (including contingency planning) to deliver the projects
Manages and contributes to the selection of supplier delivery relationships for technical partners, software vendors and contract agencies
Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and key customers, ensuring delivery meets requirements
Manages interaction with technical and business functions to ensure that appropriate technical options are considered and recommended for the IT solution
Contributes to research into solutions evaluation and design to ensure delivered solution is efficient, cost-effective and meets the Group’s architectural standards
Identification, planning (including technical implementation plan) and tracking of all the component parts of the IT solution including third party management of several external suppliers
Responsible for shaping and developing the technical solution in line with current IT strategy and infrastructure

Skills and experience required:
Accredited Programme/Project Management qualifications (such as MSP, Prince2, APMP, etc.)
Educated to A level or equivalent
Proven experience of managing complex/technical projects
Track record of successful business-wide delivery of budgetary responsibility
Proven experience of managing 3rd party relationships
Proven experience of leading multi-disciplined teams across locations
Willing and able to work across locations
Effective communicator with good oral and written skills
Experienced at influencing senior management
