IT Systems Administrator

Job Description

Duties include:
Maintain and troubleshoot all office workstations which are stand alone PC workstations utilising off the shelf programs
Running routine servicing and maintenance on all client machines
Troubleshooting software and hardware problems and installing updates as appropriate
Monitoring and troubleshooting the network, including routers, switches and firewall
Maintaining the servers including ensuring the hardware is functioning properly; checking error logs; setting up and closing down user accounts; managing security permissions; group policies and general server administration
Maintaining and updating the external website and the internal intranet
Overseeing disaster and data recovery procedures periodically in conjunction with relevant IT consultants
Liaise with and formally report to the Computer Committee on a monthly basis
Working knowledge of the following technologies would be an advantage but is not essential: Windows Server 2012/2016; Windows 10; MS SQL Server 2012; Microsoft Office 365; Laserfiche; Star Professional; WordPress; Microsoft Hyper-V; Veeam Backup & Replication

Skills and experience required:
Have 2-5 years prior experience in an IT support environment
Be proficient in the maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure
Have a good working knowledge of database applications
Be able to maintain and monitor IT hardware
Be a good communicator with strong inter-personal skills
Competence in computer programming would be useful but is not essential
Previous experience in accountancy/CSP environment would be an advantage but is not essential
