IT Operations Manager

Job Description

Duties include:
Identifying the skills and expertise required in the future of the company and building development plans with the team to meet these
Providing meaningful development opportunities and building career plans for members of the team
Establishing, constantly refining and agreeing SLA’s for the delivery of service
Ensuring work requests are met with appropriate resource and expertise and delivered within SLA
Coach and mentor the team, building skills and capability and delivering an environment (culture) that allows everyone to achieve their aspirations
Ownership of the functional KPI’s
Challenging the status quo, finishing new and innovative ways to continually improve the business
Explaining technical subject matter to non-technical colleagues

Skills and experience required:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing expertise
Experience across a broad range of applications, specifically Cloud Applications (including Office 365)
A working knowledge of Networking, including Firewalls Switches and Routing
Experience of a virtualised infrastructure (VMware)
MS Windows Server administration and management
Experience with patching and monitoring solutions
Industry qualifications together with a strong academic grounding (Degree-level)
Ideally some Project Management training (e.g. PRINCE2)
Previous experience supporting complex and high-value projects
Excellent research capability and evidence of developing innovative solutions
Investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiar with the ITIL principles
