Investment Technical Analyst

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Technical Analyst to join their team. The Technical Analyst is responsible for delivering an effective function on the valuation and technical aspects of the company’s investment holdings.

Responsibilities:

Perform asset reviews to determine acceptability from a legal, regulatory compliance, and operational perspective, in line with Investment Policies & Business Standards
Perform monitoring and governance processes in line with Business Standards, ensuring a robust control environment around the asset vetting process
Review and implement legal agreements with Custodians, Discretionary Fund Managers, Fund platform providers & Fund Managers, as required
Provision of expert support service to the international business units, including the Investments, Marketing, Customer Services and Sales functions
Assisting and supporting the Open Architecture Investments Manager with technical investments related projects
Maintaining expert knowledge of the investment and securities markets in the company’s core international markets
Perform administration of the Private Company holdings, including accurate valuation and reconciliation in line with regulatory requirements and Business Standards
Support and oversee the asset compliance process providing expertise as required in ensuring group/stock exchange reporting duties are met, as well as meeting regional and regulatory rules around asset eligibility for all Portfolio Bond variations

Skills & experience required:

Professional qualification such as CISI / CII or equivalent is necessary
Demonstrates robust level of numeracy to perform effectively within role
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Up to date knowledge and awareness of the economic and regulatory environment within which they operate
Accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail
Self-motivated, ability to work unsupervised
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Competent in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of international investment market, particularly in relation to alternative investments, private equity and international stock markets
Minimum 5 years’ experience within a investments technical role, preferably within an offshore life insurance environment
