EMC Supervisor

Job Description

Duties include:
Ensure Data Protection controls remain robust and requirements met
Ensure compliance and regulatory legislation requirements are met and adhered to
Lead the team in an engaging, collaborative and constructive manner
Technical expert in all areas relating to systems, procedures, queries and checking
Support the manager in recruitment, appraisals, training, coaching and mentoring, driving development of individuals and team
Ensure work of the team meets set service standards and deadlines
Maintain the area Risk Register and proactively assess potential risks of the area and suggest and implement methods to improve the controls in place to mitigate them
Proactively drive efficiency opportunities within the area
Identify and manage issues to resolution, reporting to and keeping stakeholders updated throughout
Support the manager by actively progressing the division’s strategy
Leadership and responsibility of people and functions/technical specialist in either the Investment Control team (pricing, corporate actions, investment governance) or the Dealing and Settlements team (asset review, asset and broker maintenance, trade creation, placement, and settlement, dividends and rebates)
Continual prioritisation of own and team tasks, planning and managing resource
Continual strengthening and improvement of team capabilities
Contribute to decision making, problem solving and strategy planning

Skills and experience required:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Life Assurance industry
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an investment operations area
Proven experience of dealing with external parties such as fund managers, custodians, and financial advisers
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
