Bookkeeper

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and tax returns

Preparing VAT returns

Monitor and respond to client queries via the accounts mailbox

Dissolution of client companies and maintaining the closure database

Assisting with the departmental workflow

Assist with client professional clearance

Role Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with Clients in writing and over the phone

Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

Computer literacy essential

Preferably working towards a professional qualification

Flexible and adaptable approach to work

Experience of IRIS and Excel software desirable

Ability to organise own work and integrate with a small team

Dealing with HMRC and Companies House

Basic understanding of UK company law

Basic understanding of VAT

An understanding of double entry book-keeping

Managing incoming post in relation to client companies

Communicating with internal departments
