Assistant Portfolio Manager

Job Description

Duties include:
Client liaison and dealing with ad-hoc queries
Portfolio monitoring, ensuring portfolios are appropriately invested in accordance with their mandate, restrictions, asset allocation and stock selection
Research and analysis of equities, bonds and collective investment schemes
Calculation and input of portfolio orders for approval
Assisting with monthly and quarterly client reporting
Maintenance of client records, correspondence filing and general administration
Supporting new business and marketing efforts
Other duties that may be required from time to time

Skills and experience required:
Desire to develop a career in investment management
Strong academic background
Willing to attain the MCSI level professional qualification (or equivalent)
Ability to assist in the preparation of investment reports to private clients in a clear and concise manner
Ability to develop relationships with clients and communicate knowledgeably with them either in written form, verbally or by attending client meetings
Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, generation/maintenance of performance data using Excel and electronic data record keeping
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work without supervision and adhere to rigid timescales
Desire and ability to build external professional and private client networks
Able to work within a team and interact with all levels, including Directors
