Application Support Analyst (UK)

Job Description

You will be required to be part of a shift rota between the hours of 7am and 7pm.

Duties include:
Provide 2nd line support across a range of applications
Run various agreed business processes and jobs
Provide proactive system monitoring as well as checking with the follow through of remedial actions
Be involved in impact assessment in response to requests for enhancement/change and respond to and act on customer issues/requests and recognition of client priorities

Skills and experience required:
Have strong problem solving and analytical skills
Proven application support skills with the ability to investigate problems and support junior team members when required
Be proactive and must have excellent customer facing skills. It is essential that you are able to liaise professionally with clients and other parties, and understand their issues
A good knowledge of SQL and should have the ability to pick up new applications quickly. ITIL experience is desirable but is not essential
Experience in programming and scripting in applicable technologies which may include shell scripting. perl, python/jython or java and an understanding of UNIX administration
